Section 11 / 12

Risk Disclosures

Risks borne by option holders and liquidity providers, including market, model, oracle, smart contract, and capacity risk.

Terminal Loss of Premium

A holder forfeits the entire premium if the settlement price is at or beyond the strike in the unfavorable direction. Negative theta erodes extrinsic value as expiry approaches even under unchanged spot. The majority of short-dated out-of-the-money options settle at zero.

Underlying Volatility

Tokens in their initial trading window may move by multiples in either direction within minutes, may lose substantially all value, and may trade against shallow or fragmented liquidity. Price dynamics in this regime are non-stationary and poorly characterized by historical data.

Liquidity Provider Risk

Liquidity providers are the aggregate short counterparty to every contract in their pool. A sustained positive move in the underlying may trigger maximum payout on many calls concurrently; a collapse may do the same for puts. Premium income is not guaranteed to offset such payouts. Full collateralization eliminates holder credit risk; it does not insulate liquidity providers from loss.

Model Risk

Premiums are computed from a model with internally calibrated parameters and corrections. Every model is a simplification of the true return process. Where realized outcomes deviate from model assumptions, premiums may be overpriced for holders or underpriced for liquidity providers.

Settlement Oracle Risk

Payoffs are a function of the price reported by the settlement oracle. Although the oracle is time-weighted and designed for manipulation resistance, no price feed is free of failure modes, including latency, staleness, and unavailability.

Smart Contract Risk

The protocol is deployed software. Implementation defects, exploits, or failures of the underlying blockchain may result in partial or total loss of funds.

Capacity Constraints

Each market's open interest is bounded by its free collateral. When capacity is exhausted, a trader may be unable to open a contract of the desired size, or at all.
